Just as seeing red refers to flushing cheeks caused by increased blood pressure in reaction to anger or physical exertion, too much time spent near busy roads may cause you to hear red as well. According to researchers from Lund University Hospital in Sweden, living in areas exposed to road noise may be hazardous to your health. The roaring of engines, along with the squealing of brakes and the blaring of horns, are a recipe for increasing your risk of developing hypertension. The report appears in the September issue of the journal Environmental Health.
