Four Year Anniversary: Researchers Ask "Why Did Some Katrina Survivors Stay Behind?"

The end of August (from August 23 to August 29) marks the four year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, the largest natural disaster in U.S. history. The 2005 storm claimed the lives of more than 1,800 victims and caused well over $100 billion in damage along the Gulf Coast. It breached every levee in New Orleans, flooding almost the entire city as well as the neighboring parishes.
